The publisher of a new Steve Jobs biography has moved up the release date by nearly a month, after the Apple co-founder died Wednesday.
Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson will be available on Amazon and iTunes and at bookstores beginning Oct. 24. Publisher Simon & Schuster had originally planned a release date of Nov. 21.
The book is based on more than 40 interviews with Jobs conducted over two years, as well as interviews with more than 100 relatives, friends, rivals and colleagues, the publisher said.
“His tale is instructive and cautionary, filled with lessons about innovation, character, leadership, and values,” Simon & Schuster said.
Isaacson is CEO of the Aspen Institute and was chairman of CNN and managing editor of Time magazine. He has authored books on Benjamin Franklin and Henry Kissinger.
The publisher said that Jobs co-operated with the book but he didn’t ask for any control over its content nor the right to read it before it was published.
