Apple logo with Steve Jobs’ silhouette takes off

An idea to incorporate Steve Jobs’ silhouette into the bite of the Apple logo has taken off.

The idea by Jonathan Mak Long, a 19-year-old student at Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University School of Design, has spread on the Internet after he posted it on his Tumblr blog the day the Apple co-founder died.

The idea received more than 1,300 comments on his blog site and has even gotten him a job offer, Mak Long said.

“My design has led to a job offer,” he tweeted on Twitter on Thursday. “I am speechless.”

He wrote on his blog that his idea has reached 180,000 people on the web. Reuters reported that even commemorative caps and T-shirts are being sold on eBay featuring his design.

“I’m very glad that it has struck a chord in so many people’s hearts, and it’s a true testament to Steve’s influence and accomplishments,” he said.

Jobs died Wednesday at 56. He stepped down as Apple’s CEO in August and remained on as chairman until his death.
