Brampton man charged in death of infant son

A 20-year-old Brampton man has been charged in the death of his three-month-old son.

On Sept. 22, 2010, police responded to a medical call on Flowertown Avenue, near McLaughlin Road North and Queen Street West in Brampton.

Three-month-old Tyson Garbutt-Streeter, was in distress, and paramedics took him to a local hospital before then transferring him to the Hospital for Sick Children.

The boy died after doctors took him off life support six days later.

Because of the unexplained injuries found during his treatment, the Peel police Special Victims Unit had been investigating. After his death, the Homicide Bureau took over.

Tyson’s father, Daniel Streeter, was arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree murder.

He will appear in a Brampton court for a bail hearing.
