‘Paranormal Activity 3’ tops weekend box office

The low-budget horror flick Paranormal Activity 3 topped the weekend box office, raking in $54 million in ticket sales.
According to website Box Office Mojo, that’s the best fall (September and October) opening in movie history.
It’s also the best opening ever for a horror movie – a record that was previously held by Paranormal Activity 2,
Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman as a reluctant dad who reunites with his son over boxing robots, took second place with $11.3 million.
And a remake of the Kevin Bacon classic Footloose rounded out the top three with $11 million.
