Victim in fatal Brampton crash identified

A man who was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-car crash in Brampton early Friday has been identified.
Nirojan Kaneswaralwgam, 24, was killed on Cottrelle Boulevard, near The Gore and Castlemore roads, around 3 a.m.
The car slammed into a light standard, trapping the driver. Kaneswaralwgam succumbed to his injuries as emergency crews were working to extricate him.
There’s no word yet on what police believe caused the crash.
