Man arrested after wife, 2 children allegedly thrown from Scarborough balcony

A man has been arrested after allegedly throwing a woman and children off a Scarborough balcony Saturday afternoon.

The woman and two small children, a two-year-old and an eight-month-old baby were rushed to hospital after allegedly being thrown four storeys from an apartment balcony on Scarborough Golf Club Road near Lawrence Avenue.

Police tell CityNews a man jumped from the same balcony and was arrested at the scene.

Charges have been laid.

“I saw a little baby there, it was heart wrenching. The fire department was trying to save her…she had white foam coming out of her mouth, it was heart wrenching,” said a witness named Mike.

Witnesses say they tackled the man as soon as he hit the ground, holding him until police arrived.

“We jumped on him, yeah … police came and told me ‘Enough.’ They grabbed me,” said Mike.

The children were rushed to the Hospital for Sick Children, and the woman was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital. They are in serious, but stable condition and expected to recover.
