Billy Crystal will be hosting the 2012 Oscars, the star himself confirmed in a Tweet Thursday.

Get ready for many more jokes like that one as Crystal replaces Eddie Murphy as host. Murphy backed out after producer Brett Ratner resigned. Ratner made a slew of misogynist and homophobic remarks.
Crystal’s no stranger to the Academy Awards, having hosted eight times before.
He hosted for four years, from 1990–1993, and then again in 1997, 1998, 2000, and 2004.
