Police seize 100 stun guns disguised as cellphones

Toronto police have one woman in custody and are looking for a man after allegedly finding 100 stun guns disguised as cellphones in a Dawes and Danforth area apartment in the city’s east end.

Officers also say they seized a TEC-9 submachine gun and a Cobra 9 mm handgun in the Nov. 10 raid. The two were selling the prohibited weapons from their apartment, police allege.

“We’ve had cases like this before but this is a significant investigation,” Const. Tony Vella told CityNews.

“The man we’re looking for is considered armed and dangerous,” he added.

Police are looking for Keri McKnight, 30. He is wanted for 275 charges.

Muna El Badri, 23, of Toronto, was arrested during the raid and faces 185 charges, including:

  • importing or exporting a prohibited weapon knowing it is unauthorized.
  • possess prohibited weapon for the purpose of trafficking.
  • possession of a prohibited weapon.
  • careless storage of ammunition.

This is a joint investigation, Vella said, involving the Canada Border Services Agency and the Guns and Gangs Unit.
