Ginger Beef Choice recall expanded over listeria concerns

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded a recall affecting Ginger Beef Choice Ltd. foods over listeria concerns.
The recall was first issued on Nov. 16. Dozens of products are affected.
No illnesses have been reported.
Some of the Ginger Beef Choice Ltd. products are sold in bulk and are sold in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
Food contaminated with listeria may not look or smell spoiled but the bacteria can cause foodborne illness. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
Listeriosis may present itself with mild, flu-like symptoms in pregnant women but the illness can lead to premature delivery, infection in the newborn and even stillbirth.
