CityNews Channel moves to Rogers digital channel 15

CityNews Channel Toronto’s only 24-hour, all-news channel offered in high definition has a new home on the dial: Rogers digital cable channel 15.

The move went into effect Tuesday. It will also continue to be on Rogers digital channel 1 until Nov. 28.

On the air since Oct. 3, CityNews Channel is free preview on TV, streaming online at CityNews.ca and via the CityNews app for iPhone and iPad.

The station follows the news-wheel format made famous by our sister radio station 680News, with traffic and weather together on the 1s, sports at :15 and :45 as well as business news at :26 and :56. Plus you can watch local, national and international stories live from the heart of the city at Yonge-Dundas Square.

“CityNews Channel continues to evolve with each headline, bringing viewers multiplatform, HD coverage of news stories as they break,” Tina Cortese, vice-president of news and general manager of Citytv Toronto, said in a statement.

“With a new home on Rogers digital channel 15, we look forward to reaching even more viewers and continuing our proven success in providing accessible and reliable information 24 hours a day.”

Since the Oct. 3 launch, CityNews Channel has become one of the top 5 digital networks in Toronto, parent Rogers Communications Inc. said.
