TORONTO, Ont. – Despite being evicted from St. James Park, Occupy Toronto protesters continued their movement with a rally outside Moss Park at Queen and Sherbourne Streets.
CityNews microphones picked up audio of this woman, who identified herself as a teacher as she spoke to the assembly.
“We fight for public education, we put people before profit. We know that the enrollment in this area is going to be increasing in the ten years, so it’s not a question of enrollment,” the woman said.
“It’s about selling off our land, and I heard a brother talking about, we are not for sale.”
The protesters briefly marched up Sherbourne Street toward Dundas Street, briefly setting up a tent which was quickly taken down.
The group then began to travel south down Sherbourne Street, where it’s expected they may continue their protest.
