‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn’ rakes in nearly $17M at Friday box office

The latest – but sadly, not the last – installment of the Twilight film franchise raked in nearly $17 million at the box office on Friday night.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 follows young lovers Isabella (Bella) Swan and Edward Cullen as they marry and begin to start a family. There’s just one problem: Cullen is a 104-year-old vampire, and the pregnancy could kill Swan.

According to the website Box Office Mojo, Breaking Dawn Part 1 has already made $196.2 million.
The heartwarming movie The Muppets — where Kermit gets the whole gang back together for one last show — took in $12.3 million.
Happy Feet Two rounded out the top three, with $5.1 million in ticket sales.
