Toronto police are investigating after a man’s body was found in an SUV in the city’s west end on Wednesday morning.
The intersection at Dewson Street and Rusholme Road was cordoned off but has since reopened.
“We got a call at about 8:05 a.m. for a suspicious incident. A person reported what appeared to be a body in the back of a vehicle,” Const. Wendy Drummond told CityNews.
She said that the coroner was being dispatched.
The body was removed around 12:30 p.m. Drummond wouldn’t say much more, as homicide detectives are still investigating.
The death is considered suspicious, but has not been deemed a homicide.
Neighbours told CityNews they did not recognize the vehicle.
“It’s a little bit creepy to leave your house and be interviewed by police,” Suzanne Andrew said.
“It’s not normal life in this neighbourhood. It’s usually pretty quiet. There are lots of families. Most of the houses here have street parking, so you get to know what cars are parked outside. This was an unfamiliar car.”
