Clark Griswold would be jealous—but not of Pat and Amatore DeSario’s hydro bill.
The DeSario family’s abundance of holiday cheer has once again made them the talk of the town during the holidays.
For the 12th straight year the two have decorated their home at 165 Benjamin Boake Trail, near Keele and Sheppard, with tens of thousands of lights and dozens of flashing characters.
The family starts putting the massive display together around Thanksgiving.
“It puts a smile on their face, which makes us feel good,” Amatore DeSario said.
Everyone who stops by to the take in the spectacle is asked to make a donation to the Hospital for Sick Children. The family’s goal this year is $12,000.
The DeSarios have a special spot in their hearts for SickKids hospital. Their daughter spent a lot of time there after she was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of eight. The parents started creating their elaborate display and collecting donations to show their appreciation.
The lights will stay up until Jan. 6.
