2 hurt in Hwy. 404 crash

Two people were injured in a serious crash in Markham Wednesday morning.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Highway 404 at Stouffville Road.
The Ontario Provincial Police said a 46-year-old Newmarket woman was driving southbound when she lost control of her car, crossed into the northbound lanes, and collided head-on with a van.
The woman was taken to Southlake Regional Health Centre with minor injuries. The 56-year-old driver of the van was taken to Sunnybrook hospital in serious, but not life-threatening condition.
The northbound lanes were closed between Elgin Mills and Stouffville roads for several hours.
