2 pets killed in Mississauga house fire

Two pets were killed when flames erupted at a home in Mississauga Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Mulberry Crescent, in the Mavis and Britannia Road West around 4:45 p.m.

Mississauga Fire Platoon Chief Larry McPhail tells CityNews the family wasn’t home when the two-alarm fire began, as the parents were out taking their children to various after-school activities.

At this point it’s not clear what started the fire, but the home suffered extensive damage.
