Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has taken over after an incident involving an unmarked police cruiser on Islington Ave., near Finch.
It happened at around 1 a.m. Monday.
An SIU spokesperson said two plain clothes officers were in the area for an investigation when they came across two men.
One of the men fled, and police pursued him. He was later struck by an unmarked cruiser.
The victim was taken to hospital with a leg injury.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
