3rd annual Citytv Carol Sing raises money for local food banks

Some of this country’s finest singers gathered Saturday at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church to raise money for local food banks.

The 3rd annual Citytv Carol Sing supports food banks across the county, including Toronto’s Churches on-the-Hill Food Bank.

CityNews anchor Gord Martineau hosted the show, and also sang along with CityLine’s Tracy Moore.

Tenor Richard Margison, who has sung all over the world and recently performed the role of Canio in Leoncavallo’s I Pagliaci took part, as well as his daughter, soprano Lauren Margison.

The High Park Choirs of Toronto, the Larkin Singers, the Viva Arts Brass and the choirs of Yorkminster Park Baptist Church and Christ Church Deer Park also performed.

The one-hour show will air on Christmas Eve. Tune in to Citytv on Dec. 24 at 11 p.m.
