What’s open, closed over the holidays

This year Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on a weekend, which means the statutory holidays are observed after the actual days. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed over the holidays.
Saturday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve):
- TTC and GO Transit on Saturday schedule
- Most banks open until the early afternoon
- Libraries open until 1 p.m.
- Most LCBO and Beer Stores open until 6 p.m.
- Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Sherway Gardens, Fairview Mall, Vaughan Mills, Square One open until 6 p.m.; Scarborough Town Centre open until 7 p.m.; Pacific Mall open until 9 p.m.
- Most grocery stores open until 6 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day):
- TTC and GO Transit on Sunday schedule
- Banks, government offices and libraries closed
- Malls and most stores closed (Pacific Mall will be open)
- LCBO and Beer Stores closed
- Grocery stores closed
- Some pharmacies open
- Some movie theatres and restaurants open
- City skating rinks open
Monday, Dec. 26 (Boxing Day):
- TTC on holiday schedule
- GO Transit on Saturday schedule
- Banks, government offices and libraries closed
- No mail delivery
- Most LCBO and Beer Stores closed
- Malls open
- Most grocery stores open
- Some pharmacies open
- City skating rinks open
Tuesday, Dec. 27 (Christmas Day statutory holiday observed):
- TTC and GO Transit on Saturday schedule
- Banks, government offices and libraries closed
- No mail delivery
- Malls open
- Grocery stores open
- Some pharmacies open
- City skating rinks open
Saturday, Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve):
- Most TTC routes on Saturday late-evening service, continuing until 4 a.m.
- GO Transit on late-night service
- Most LCBO and Beer Stores open until 6 p.m.
- Most malls open until 6 p.m.
- Most banks open until 3 p.m.
- Most grocery stores open until 6 p.m.
- Most movie theatres open
- City skating rinks open
Sunday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day):
- TTC and GO Transit on Sunday schedule
- Banks, government offices and libraries closed
- LCBO and Beer Stores closed
- Most grocery stores closed
- Some pharmacies open
- Tourist attractions like the Ontario Science Centre, Royal Ontario Museum, AGO, Toronto Zoo and CN Tower open
- Most movie theatres open
- Eaton Centre and Pacific Mall open, but most malls closed
- City skating rinks open
Monday, Jan. 2 (New Year’s Day statutory holiday observed):
- TTC on holiday schedule
- GO Transit on Sunday schedule
- Banks, government offices and libraries closed
- No mail delivery
