Mayor Rob Ford met with Torontonians at City Hall Monday to ring in the New Year.
The annual levee — postponed from the usual Jan. 1 — gave residents the chance to meet the mayor and some city councillors.
It took place in the City Hall rotunda from 2-4 p.m.
Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion met with dozens of residents at her levee Sunday.
“I’m just as excited about it as the day I was elected in 1978,” she said.
“Being with the people, seeing what we’ve accomplished. We’re noted as one of the best managed cities in Canada … We will not be cutting services, and we’re adding a couple of new ones. And we will not be laying off staff.”
