Toronto band Azari & III to open for Madonna on upcoming tour: report

Madonna has reportedly asked fast-rising Toronto band Azari & III to open for her on an upcoming tour.

UK newspaper The Sun first broke the news, and the band then Tweeted the article.

Madonna has not set a date for a new tour, but a source told The Sun “Madonna loves them and although the tour hasn’t been signed in stone yet, it’s looking pretty much nailed on.”

There are rumours the tour will start in Israel at the end of May.

Azari & III is a four-person dance act, including producers Dinamo Azari and Alixander III, and singers Starving Yet Full and Fritz Helder.

The BBC called their debut self-titled album  “one of the finest electronic pop records you’re likely to hear in 2011.” It was named one of the top 50 records of 2011 by Spin magazine.
