An autopsy will be done Sunday on a woman who died in hospital after she was found bleeding in a west-end laneway.
Around 6:30 p.m. Friday, the woman, 41, was found with apparent gunshot wounds in a lane off Chesley Avenue, near Dufferin and College streets.
She was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital where she died.
There are reports the murder may be connected to a shooting early Saturday in Richmond Hill, but police have not confirmed any link.
A man is in critical condition after that incident, and the province’s Special Investigations Unit has taken over the case.
