The city of Toronto has cancelled an extreme cold weather alert that was first put into effect on Friday.
An alert is issued whenever the temperature is -15 C or lower without a wind chill.
On Sunday, the forecast called for a low of -7 C, but it will feel like -16 C with the wind, weather specialist Yvonne Schalle said.
It doesn’t mean winter is over – light flurries are in the forecast for the GTA and Niagara region, Schalle said, and Barrie is coping with an overnight snowfall.
