Freezing rain warning for parts of GTA lifted

Drivers were being urged to use extra caution and put aside extra time to get to work Thursday morning due to a freezing rain warning for parts of the GTA that has since been lifted.

The warning applied to Halton Hills, Milton, Orangeville and Hamilton. Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo, Stratford and Brantford were also covered.

The warning didn’t apply to Toronto. Thursday’s forecast high is 5 C.

“A lot of the activity is going to scoot by the city of Toronto for today and if we do see much it will be in the form of rain,” Breakfast Television Weather Specialist Frank Ferragine said.

There could be some snow accumulation north of city, near Barrie and Orillia, on Thursday afternoon.
