Suspect in Brampton shooting surrenders to police

A 22-year-old man turned himself in to police nearly three weeks after a shooting that has left another man fighting for his life in hospital.

Peel police issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Ryan Coleman after a shooting on the night of Feb. 6 on Duffield Road, near Chinguacousy Road and Sandalwood Parkway. Coleman surrendered to authorities on Sunday afternoon and was charged with attempted murder.

The shots were fired when an argument between two men escalated, police said. The victim remains in hospital in critical condition.

Coleman appeared in court Monday. Investigators are still asking anyone with information on the case to contact them.

Call police at (905) 453-2121, ext. 2233 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
