More burgers added to recall list

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) expanded a recall of no name beef burgers and beef steakettes due to possible E.coli contamination.

Two additional products distributed nationally by Loblaws were added to the recall list on Tuesday. The CFIA and Burlington’s New Food Classics originally issued a recall for burgers last month.

There has been one reported illness linked to this recall.

The products may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Contaminated food may not look or smell spoiled but consumption could cause symptoms including severe abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea and in some cases, stroke, kidney problems or even death.
