Rob Ford’s ex-brother-in-law gets 18 years in prison: report

Mayor Rob Ford’s former brother-in-law, Ennio Stirpe, was sentenced Friday to 18 years in prison for a 2008 knife attack that left a Vaughan woman blind in one eye, according to reports.

The judge Michelle Fuerst also ordered Stirpe to complete his prison term for the 1998 shotgun slaying of a former boyfriend of Ford’s sister, Kathy, the Toronto Star reported.

Stirpe was on parole for that at the time of the violent attack in his basement apartment.

The Crown sought a life sentence while Stirpe’s lawyer David Steinberg asked for a prison term of 10 to 14 years.
