GO Transit to increase bus service

There’s good news for people who take the GO bus — you will soon have more options for getting around.

Starting Saturday, GO will add eight weekday trips between East Gwillimbury and Union stations.

There will also be five new weekday morning trips departing the Bramalea GO station to Malton and Union stations.

GO is also adding capacity along the Stouffville bus route.

Here are the extensive details (courtesy of GO Transit):

Starting March 31, GO Transit will be increasing trip frequency for the Barrie, Milton, Kitchener and Lakeshore West GO bus routes. Highlights of the changes include:

30 – Kitchener/Bramalea GO bus

All westbound trips will now also serve the Kitchener Bus terminal by request.

31 – Georgetown GO bus

Five new weekday eastbound trips departing Bramalea GO station at 6:50 p.m., 7:20, 7:50, 8:50 and 9:50, then serving Malton GO station and Union station.

Four new weekend and holiday trips in either direction serving Bramalea and Malton GO stations and Union station.

Some weekday trips have been extended to also serve University of Guelph, as well as Georgetown GO station, Georgetown Market, Norval, and the Mount Pleasant and Brampton GO stations.

Five trips from Brampton GO station will no longer serve Bramalea and Malton GO stations and run express to Union station after stopping at Steeles and Rutherford. Service to Bramalea and Malton will be accommodated by new trips.

32 – Brampton Trinity Common/North York GO bus

All trips will now make all stops to York Mills GO terminal.

Some trips will now serve the new carpool lot at Williams Parkway and Hwy. 410. Eastbound trips will now depart Trinity Common five minutes earlier.

Four new trips will serve Trinity Common, the new Williams Parkway carpool lot, Bramalea GO station and York Mills GO terminal.

All trips are now accessible at select stops

33 – Guelph/North York GO bus

Some weekday trips have been extended to also serve University of Guelph.

39 – Guelph/Bramalea GO bus

All trips will continue to serve Guelph Central GO station and University of Guelph but by request only.

25 – Waterloo GO bus

Some Friday-only trips will now also operate on Thursdays or on all weekdays. Three more trips from University of Waterloo will now serve Wilfrid Laurier University.

65 – Barrie GO Bus

Eight new weekday trips making all stops between East Gwillimbury GO station and Union station to increase service frequency.

12 – Niagara Falls/Toronto GO bus

Several new bus trips between Niagara Falls VIA station and Burlington GO station connecting to GO train service.
