Child-free flights? Google Translate for animals? It must be April Fool’s Day

WestJet and Google were among many companies releasing slickly-produced pranks on April Fool’s Day.

The airline posted a video Sunday morning with a fake announcement about child-free cabins on some flights.

It said parents could check in their kids as they would their luggage.

On April 1 last year, WestJet vowed to start filling its cabins with helium to save passengers money.

Meanwhile Google released a YouTube video which appeared to unveil Google Translate for Animals, a new application to help owners communicate with their pets.

And Virgin posted a bogus news release on its website titled, “Richard Branson launches journeys to the centre of the Earth through Virgin Volcanic.”
