2 hurt in head-on crash in Etobicoke

Two people are in hospital after a head-on crash in Toronto’s west end early Sunday morning.

It happened at Kipling and Eglinton avenues around 4:30 a.m.

Crews had to free one victim who had become trapped and had a number of broken bones. She and another occupant of the same car were taken to Sunnybrook hospital for treatment.

The other driver was not hurt.

And four people were injured when a van rear-ended their car on Sheppard Avenue West, near Jane Street, around 1 a.m.

Firefighters had to extricate one of the victims by cutting off one of the car doors.

A third crash involving three cars happened about a half-hour earlier, at St. Clair Avenue West and Caledonia Road.

No one was hurt in that incident.
