Beyoncé named ‘most beautiful woman’

People has unveiled its issue honouring the world’s most beautiful women.

And while plenty of gorgeous ladies — from 21-year-old Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and 23-year-old singing sensation Adele to 42-year-old Jennifer Lopez (last year’s list-topper) and 47-year-old Sandra Bullock — made the cut for the magazine’s “Beautiful at Every Age” feature, only one woman could claim the honor of People‘s World’s Most Beautiful Woman. And the title goes to Beyoncé.

Fittingly, the 30-year-old singer agrees with the magazine’s decision — in a modest way, of course — largely thanks to the fact that she and husband Jay-Z welcomed their daughter Blue Ivy on Jan. 7.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” Beyoncé told People. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth. (Blue)’s just the cutest thing.”

Beyoncé is such a fan of motherhood, in fact, that she said she “loves” changing diapers and often sings to Blue as well. (Maybe there’s a new album of lullabies headed our way soon?)

When asked whether she looks more like her mom or dad, Beyoncé answered, “She looks like Blue. She’s her own person.” Even so, the singer sees her beautiful little one as a way to leave her mark on the world.

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she said. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Other women included in People’s Beautiful at Every Age list are The Descendants breakout Shailene Woodley, Ryan Gosling’s ex-girlfriend Rachel McAdams and current girlfriend Eva Mendes, Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, The Help Oscar nominee Viola Davis, and timeless beauties like Madonna and Michelle Pfeiffer.
