EdgeWalk opens for a 2nd season at CN Tower

Thrill seekers once again have the chance to test their fear factor near the top of the CN Tower.

EdgeWalk opened for its second season at noon on Tuesday at the iconic Toronto landmark. The extreme attraction is the world’s highest external walk on a building.

Visitors can walk along a 1.5-metre wide ledge that runs along the outside of the tower’s main pod, 356 metres above the ground. The harness system allows thrill seekers to push their boundaries by leaning over the edge.

“Often referred to as the ‘thrill of a lifetime’ and a ‘bucket list’ item, many embraced this unique experience for marriage proposals, milestone celebrations and more,” CN Tower COO Jack Robinson said.

The attraction is the first of its kind in North America. It opened last summer and demand has been high. Anyone who wants to give the EdgeWalk a try is being advised to book early. You can do that online here.

The Breakfast Television crew suited up for the exciting walk Tuesday morning ahead of the official opening. CityNews anchor Tom Hayes also tried out the death-defying adventure.

“There is no getting used to this,” Dina Pugliese said from atop the tower. “It is spectacular. It is exhilarating. It is terrifying. It is everything that makes you appreciate life.”
