Police warn of prowler in Yonge & Wellesley area

Police are warning residents in the Yonge and Wellesley area to ensure their doors and windows are locked after a man apparently tried to break in to a woman’s apartment last week.

A man was spotted using a knife to cut a patio door screen and trying to open the door around 3:45 a.m. Saturday. There’s no word if a suspect has been arrested.

“As warmer weather approaches, the Toronto Police Service would like to remind all residents to lock accessible windows and doors, even during times they are home,” authorities said in a news release on Tuesday.

Anyone with information on the prowler incident can call police at (416) 808-5200 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS.
