Victoria Day 2012 fireworks & events across Toronto

This year’s Victoria Day festivities will have an extra royal flare in Toronto with Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cambridge, scheduled to take in the fireworks at Ashbridges Bay Park on Monday night.

Fireworks displays:

Ashbridges Bay Park (Coxwell Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard, Toronto)

Monday, May 21 at 9:45 p.m.

Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, will attend the display.

Canada’s Wonderland
(Major MacKenzie Drive and Highway 400, Vaughan)

Sunday, May 20 at 10 p.m. Weather permitting.

Dundas Driving Park (King Street West and Sydenham Street, Dundas)

Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 9:30 p.m.

Colborne Lodge

The historic site in High Park will host a scavenger hunt. There’ll also be free Victoria sandwiches. Admission is $5.71 for adults, $3.54 for youth and $2.65 for kids four to 12.

Fort York

Celebrate the 175th anniversary of Victoria’s ascension to the throne at Fort York where kids can take part in authentic historic soldiers’ drills and tours of the site. Admission is pay-what-you-can.

Canadian Youth Circus at Harbourfront Centre

Circus performers, including acrobats, daredevils and clowns will demonstrate and young spectators will get the chance to try some tricks too as part of the Toronto International Circus Festival. Free.

•    Government offices
•    Libraries & schools
•    Banks will be closed
•    No garbage pick-up
•    No mail delivery

Open:

•    TTC will run on a holiday schedule
•    GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule
•    Eaton Centre, Square One, Vaughan Mills, Cookstown Outlet Mall and Square One
•    Tourist sites: Toronto Zoo, ROM, Ontario Science Centre and Canada’s Wonderland
