The 2012 Honda Indy Toronto takes place July 6-8, with the actual race itself happening on July 8.

Construction at and around Exhibiton Place for the Indy will begin Wednesday. A media photo-op at the Princes’ Gates is also scheduled Wednesday.

In 2011, Dario Franchitti captured this race for the second time in three years, and he just added the Indy 500 to his resume for the third time.

Paul Tracy is the only Canadian to win an Indy race in Toronto — he came in first in 1993 and again in 2003. He does not yet have an official car in this year’s race.
