A Toronto man is facing a slew of charges, including human trafficking, sexual assault and forcible confinement, for allegedly forcing a 15-year-old girl into prostitution.
Police arrested the 39-year-old man on Tuesday after officers received a call about an alleged sexual assault in the Broadview Avenue and Danforth area the same day.
Cheng Ping Liu is facing a total of 13 charges. His bail hearing was delayed until Thursday.
The Toronto arrest comes days after a shocking case of alleged human trafficking in Ottawa. Two 15-year-old girls were charged last week for allegedly luring other teen girls into prostitution.
Police in the nation’s capital are still looking for a third suspect, a 17-year-old girl.
