Injured Blue Jays triple-A catcher Travis d’Arnaud out 6-8 weeks

The Toronto Blue Jays have another injury to worry about.

Travis d’Arnaud will miss six-to-eight weeks with a torn PCL ligament.

The Blue Jays’ top catching prospect injured his knee while sliding into second base on Monday night.

The 23-year-old has posted a .333 average, .975 OPS with 16 home runs and 52 RBIs with triple-A Las Vegas this season.

d’Arnaud’s injury will not require surgery and he is expected to return this season.

The Blue Jays are already missing four members of their starting rotation after Henderson Alvarez left the game against the Boston Red Sox on Monday night.

Alvarez was scheduled to have an MRI on Tuesday afternoon but the Blue Jays have yet to update his status.
