A 21-year-old man remains in hospital after he was shot in the chest in the Ashbridges Bay area on Sunday night, not long after the Canada Day fireworks display.
Police were called to Lake Shore Boulevard West and Winners Circle around 10:30 p.m. after gunfire erupted amid the bangs and crackles of neighbourhood fireworks and shortly after the July 1 public display in the Beach.
The victim underwent surgery to remove the bullet and, according to police, he’s not cooperating with investigators. He’s said to have non life-threatening injuries.
So far, there’s no word on a suspect.
