Durham police are investigating several suspicious fires that occurred in Ajax over the weekend.
Officers were first called to a residence in the Westney and Taunton roads area around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for a vehicle on fire. A short time later they attended the Westney and Rossland Road area for a bush fire.
On Sunday, officers were dispatched to another residence in the Westney and Taunton area where four vehicles were on fire. And on Tuesday, police found a van on fire in a nearby residence.
No one was injured in the incidents and all the vehicles sustained substantial damage.
“Ajax Fire Services continues to investigate these incidents along with Durham Regional Police and it’s believed these fires were deliberately set,” police said in a release.
