Man charged after alleged downtown sex assaults

Police have charged a 54-year-old man who was reportedly seen sexually assaulting two women downtown early Saturday morning.
The man, identified as Ashley Roberts, allegedly assaulted the women around 7 a.m. at the intersection of Yonge and Dundas and then fled the scene.
A municipal worker who saw the alleged incident followed Roberts and helped police find him.
Officers arrested Roberts, who has no fixed address, and charged him with two counts of sexual assault.
He is due to appear in the Old City Hall courts on Sunday.
