Actor Fred Willard arrested for lewd conduct in Los Angeles

Comedic actor Fred Willard was arrested in Los Angeles Wednesday and charged with lewd conduct.

Los Angeles Police say one of their officers was doing a routine inspection in an adult theater when he found Williard engaged in “lewd conduct.”

The 72-year-old was later released.

Willard’s attorney issued a statement saying he does not believe Willard violated any laws and that he is working to clear Willard’s name.

After the incident, PBS fired Willard from the show Market Warriors – a spin-off of Antiques Roadshow.

Willard is known for his work in Christopher Guest’s mockumentaries such as This is Spinal Tap and Waiting for Guffman. He has also appeared in Anchorman and loaned his voice to the Pixar movie Wall-E.
