Paris premiere of 'The Dark Knight Rises' cancelled after shooting

The Paris premiere of the latest Batman film The Dark Knight Rises was cancelled Friday in the wake of a shooting rampage at a Colorado screening of the film.

Displays for the opening at a theatre on the Champs-Elysees were dismantled on Friday afternoon, including a large mask that was on the façade of the building.

Twelve people were killed when a gunman opened fire inside a movie theatre in Aurora, Colo. Dozens of other people were hurt in the shooting, including an infant and six-year-old child.

A 24-year-old man was taken into custody after the rampage.

The stars of the film stepped out on the red carpet for the film’s London premiere on Thursday.
