Team Canada won a bronze medal in women’s soccer on Thursday in a nail-biter game against France. Diana Matheson’s game-winning goal came in the 92nd minute.
Tonya Verbeek of Thorold, Ont., won silver in women’s 55-kilogram wrestling. Verbeek won Olympic bronze in Beijing four years ago and took the silver at the 2004 Games in Athens.
Usain Bolt became the first Olympian ever to win the 100m and 200m races in consecutive Games.
Damian Warner of London, Ont. finished 5th in the men’s decathlon after posting numerous personal bests.
