Milton man facing charges in alleged child abuse investigation

A 41-year-old Milton man was charged Tuesday with various sexual and child pornography offences in an alleged abuse investigation.
Officers arrested a suspect at his home on Laurier Avenue, more than four hours after they arrived. Police said the man wouldn’t communicate with officers and the Halton police tactical rescue unit was called in to assist.
Authorities arrived at the home at 8:30 p.m. Monday and the man eventually surrendered to police just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Layton Oneil Wright is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. Police haven’t outlined details of the case. He’s also charged with mischief over $5,000 and printing/publishing child pornography.
Wright was scheduled to appear in a Milton court Tuesday for a bail hearing.
