YRT, Viva expanding service next month

York Region will introduce more than 70 service changes on York Region Transit and Viva, which will go into effect on Sept. 2.
Some of the changes include:
- Route 50 Queensway will be expanded to operate all day between Sutton and the Town of Newmarket.
- High school specials will be reinstated for back-to-school travel.
- Viva purple and orange will offer more frequent service. Additional Viva purple service to York University will be reinstated for the school year.
- Route 22/22A King City will offer more frequent service, offering another back-to-school option for travel to York University.
- Route 91/91A – Bayview service will be moved to platform 3 at the Finch GO Bus Terminal.
