Burlington teacher accused of sex assault

A former teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a youth, Halton police say.

The accused was employed as a teacher for the Halton District School Board until June.

Carol Shepherd, 48, of Burlington, was arrested and charged Wednesday. The charges relate to incidents that occurred between 2005 and 2010. She is expected to appear in court on Oct. 4.

Police didn’t disclose details of her relationship with the youth or the alleged victim’s age or sex.

They do not believe there are any more victims.
