Police in York Region are asking for help in tracking down an alleged fraud suspect.
The woman allegedly pretended to be another person at a bank on Maycroft Avenue in Vaughan in late May. She showed replicated copies of the victim’s identification to a teller to get a replacement bank card, authorities said.
Police claim the woman then used the debit card at an ATM to withdraw cash from the victim’s bank account.
The suspect is believed to have been involved in similar crimes around the GTA, police said.
She’s described as white with long brown hair and a heavy build. She was last seen wearing a grey long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
