2 held at gunpoint in Pickering home invasion

Durham regional police are investigating after a violent home invasion in Pickering.

It happened around 10 p.m. Sunday at a residence in the Pickering Parkway and Notion Road area.

Officials say five males broke into the home and assaulted the father and his 10-year-old daughter at gunpoint.  Neither suffered serious injuries.

The suspects stole two cell phones before leaving the home.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

One of the suspects is described as a male, black, 17-19 years old, six-feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

No descriptions of the other suspects were available.
