Missing canoeist’s body recovered from Lake Ontario

The body of a missing canoeist was recovered from Lake Ontario on the weekend, police say.
Moustafa Ahmadi, 26, of Ajax, was discovered floating in the lake about a kilometre from shore near the Ajax-Whitby border by a resident on Saturday afternoon.
Durham police along with other rescue officials recovered Ahmadi’s body that day.
Ahmadi was on the water with a friend during the August long weekend when their canoe capsized. The second man made it back to shore.
An autopsy will be conducted in Toronto.
