The National Ballet of Canada will be auctioning off 56 one-of-a-kind pieces by some of the country’s top artists and designers on Tuesday evening to help raise money for the company.
It’s a chance to own a piece of the ballet’s history, the company says.
During the Tutu Project Auction, former principal dancer and artistic director Karen Kain will also hold a discussion with Caroline O’Brien, curator of the exhibit, 60 Years of Designing the Ballet.
Kain began dancing at the National Ballet of Canada at the age of 11 and has been a guest artist with the Bolshoi Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet.
The auction will include works by VWAK, Julie Moon, David Dixon, Shay Lowe Jewellery, Juma and Corps de Ballet member Krista Dowson.
The fundraiser begins 6 p.m. at the Design Exchange.
